Meet Dr. Vogel

Charles A. Vogel arrived in Springfield, Missouri December 11, 1941 a bouncing baby boy who idolized his grandfather Dr. Charles B. Holt. His formative educational years were at Sunshine and Delaware Elementary schools, and Jarrett Jr. High. He graduated from Parkview High School in 1959. Drury College was his choice for under graduate work and then onto the University of Missouri at Kansas City’s School of Dentistry (UMKC). Upon graduation, he returned to Springfield to join his grandfather’s dental practice located in downtown Springfield’s “old” Medical Arts Building at South Avenue and Pershing Street. In 1969, he moved his practice to the rapidly growing south part of Springfield. Known as a futurist in the dental community he expanded his dental interests further to meet the growing desire for finer cosmetic dentistry. However, he also saw a  trend that  was discouraging to him. At that time, the TV series “The Extreme Make-Over” was highly popular. He saw people risking healthy teeth for having them cut away for veneers when in reality all they needed was teeth straightening and bleaching – simply because they wanted a quick fix. These adults did not want years of braces as they had endured or saw their teenagers enduring. Yet, they did not understand how many of the quick fixes were causing accelerated wear and tear with teeth grinding plus irreversible damage to perfectly healthy teeth. Thus, the integration of PowerProx® 6-Month Braces and more recently Invisalign® Invisible Braces into his repertoire of beautiful smiles.
